edie partners with Earthshot Prize to accelerate climate innovation at edie 25

edie has agreed a partnership with the global environmental award programme The Earthshot Prize in a joint effort to accelerate and scale-up solutions to the climate crisis at the flagship edie 25 event on 26-27 March.

The new partnership, which also incorporates edie’s recently acquired Springwise arm, will be brought to life through an all-new Innovation Pavillion – a dedicated area of edie 25 which will connect extraordinary innovators with corporates that are actively seeking to deploy innovations on the path to a sustainable future.

Commenting on the new partnership, The Earthshot Prize’s Chief Innovative Finance and Investment Officer Anuradha Bajaj said: “The Earthshot Prize is on a mission to use our platform to discover and scale climate solutions. Today, we see many outstanding innovations that have reached a level of maturity and are ripe for new investment to achieve even greater impact.

“Our partnership with edie is one way that we are facilitating new connections for climate solutions and I look forward to achieving valuable outcomes for businesses and the planet through our work together.”

edie’s Publisher Luke Nicholls said: “Through our recent acquisition of Springwise, edie is on a mission to connect climate solutionists with innovation-hungry corporates – this partnership with Earthshot Prize will make that mission possible at edie 25.

“From informal and facilitated networking through to dedicated roundtables and ‘meet the innovator’ sessions, the Innovation Pavillion will accelerate climate action through powerful collaboration – we’re truly delighted to be partnering with an initiative as prestigious and impactful as The Earthshot Prize and excited to drive positive change together.”

Innovation Pavillion

Hosted during edie 25 on 26-27 March at the Business Design Centre in London, the edie 25 Innovation Pavillion will be open for all edie 25 attendees to access and will bring together a hand-picked selection of UK-based climate innovators from both the Springwise Innovation Database and previous Earthshot Prize winners and finalists.

A dedicated ‘Earthshot Hour’, hosted and introduced by the Earthshot Prize team, will take place during lunchtime across both days of the event, creating space for open and informal networking between innovators and corporates across the country.

Meanwhile, the ‘Meet the Innovator’ feature will allow edie 25 attendees to schedule 15-minute meetings with their choice of climate innovators, via the edie 25 event app. And an exclusive climate innovation roundtable will bring together innovators, investors and corporates for a much-needed dialogue about scaling up innovation to accelerate sustainability and the net-zero transition.

Earthshot Nominator

The partnership between edie, Springwise and Earthshot Prize builds on Springwise’s status as an official Nominator into the initiative, which rewards individuals and organisations who create impactful solutions to some of the planets biggest challenges.

The £1 million Prize, which was launched in 2020 by Prince William and Sir David Attenborough,  is awarded to five winners each year across the ‘Earthshot’ categories of Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate.

The edie 25 Innovation Pavillion is the latest in a line of impact-driven features to take place at edie’s flagship event, including five themed content stages, a choice of nine co-creative workshops, challenge-based Advisory Clinics, and the Health & Wellbeing Zone.

Now in its 15th year, edie 25, organised by the B-Corp certified edie brand, is shaping up to be the UK’s largest corporate climate action event, with more than 1,000 business, sustainability and net-zero leaders set to fill the entire space at the Business Design Centre in Islington. Tickets are available on an individual, group and sharing basis – and are selling out fast. Advanced booking is therefore recommend to secure spaces across the event’s various features.
